Hello, i have installed the board and some pcie 3.0 game capture which is installed on my b650 Tomahawk. But i have an issue, before i upgrade into b650 Tomahawk, i have MSI B450 A PRO MAX whic is installed the same pcie game capture. In MSI B450 A PRO MAX, my game capture run at pcie bandwith x4/x4 thats mean the pcie_2 in motherboard run in x4 mode. But today, when i upgrade into B650 TOMAHAWK which is in spesification have PCIE 4.0 X4 yes, but when i install my pcie game capture, it only run in x2/x4 mode (x2 mode)... just take a look into my screenshot below. My Question is, how to get x4 mode bandwith in PCIE_2 lane, because i not install any M.2 slot.
Check the Bios setting for PCI-E From what I can tell from the info there should be no conflicts with PCI-E link speed it should be running at PCI-E 3.0X4 no matter how many M.2 are populated See if setting Chipset Gen speed from Auto to Gen3 helps Do not set it to Gen4 may cause the system to fail to boot. Leave PCI-E1 Gen switch on AUTO Will look a bit like this
i have bios setting like you, but nothings happen, still on x2 mode ... very frustating on this new motherboard,,
May need a bios update, of the Device may need a Firmware update can you check with Manufacture and see if they have a Firmware update for it or if one is going to be released
already on newest bios version , firmware etc.. i dunno what happens, but my b450 a pro max can run it on x4 mode why b650 tomahawk can't
Well it may be running at 4.0x2 and that is the same speed as PCI-E 3.0x4 Is there an option to run a Performance test to see if it is running at the correct speed data wise
no i think, because the speed is worst than on my prevorius motherboard
T oss it in slot one and GPU in the slot it is in and see if still at 3.0X2 Not overly concerned with GPU speed just want to verify card will work at X4 on that motherboard If it does run at X4 in the top slot I would suggest your RMA the Board but it at X2 may need to await a Bios update Can you list your full computer build including part numbers and pick off the Memory Sticker? if it still runs at PCI-E 3.0x2 in top slot Humm OK my mistake should have checked sooner but your new Baord only Supports 4.X2 on the second slot I personally not overly happy with specks on the new AM5 boards And I like AMD but this AM5 release has been a bit of a letdown for how much they cost and Specks.

yeah, i think msi tomahawk board focused their specs for m.2 nvme, because i just look into b650 pro, their have pcie x4 in other slot |
