4 Cores 8 Threads 15 W TDP 2.2 GHz Frequency 3.8 GHz Boost Raven Ridge Codename Socket FP5 Socket Connectivity AMD Socket FP5 The AMD Ryzen 7 2700U is a mobile processor with 4 cores, launched in October 2017. It is part of the Ryzen 7 lineup, using the Zen (Raven Ridge) architecture with Socket FP5. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) the core-count is effectively doubled, to 8 threads. Ryzen 7 2700U has 4MB of L3 cache and operates at 2.2 GHz by default, but can boost up to 3.8 GHz, depending on the workload. AMD is making the Ryzen 7 2700U on a 14 nm production node, the transistor count is unknown. The silicon die of the chip is not fabricated at AMD, but at the foundry of GlobalFoundries. The multiplier is locked on Ryzen 7 2700U, which limits its overclocking potential.
