The arrival of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald conjures the question asked of most blockbusters: Does it have a post-credits scene?

Countless Muggle, and No-Maj, moviegoers will no doubt sit through the credits of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, hoping for one final spark of magic, or at least a tease for the third installment of J.K. Rowling's series. However, they're in for a letdown.

That's because director David Yates' Fantastic Beasts sequel doesn't have a mid- or post-credits scene; it simply ends with the Warner Bros. Pictures logo.

Perhaps that shouldn't come as a surprise, even considering the growing popularity of such stingers at the end of Hollywood blockbusters, popularized by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them didn't contain a post-credits scene.

However, the technique isn't exactly foreign to Rowling's Wizarding World: 2002's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets included an after-credits scene featuring Kenneth Branagh's Gilderoy Lockhart, and 2004's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban conclude with Daniel Radcliffe's character saying "Mischief managed," and then "Nox," followed by the playing of "Pettigrew’s Theme."

So, two films out of 10 (and counting) have included some sort of stinger, but The Crimes of Grindelwald most certainly does not. That means you're free to slip out of the theater and grab that mug of butterbeer, or stake out a corner of the lobby for that immediate after-movie discussion group. Or, hey, get back in line to buy a ticket for the next showing.

You'll have plenty of time to dissect the ending, even without the aid of an extra scene, as the third chapter in the planned five-movie Fantastic Beasts series won't arrive in theaters until Nov. 20, 2020.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is expected to open this weekend with a worldwide box office of somewhere between $250 million and $275 million. An estimated $65 million to $70 million will come from North America, short of the $74.4 million domestic debut in 2016 of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but almost certainly enough to place the Warner Bros. franchise on the path toward the sequel -- or, rather, sequels.

Opening Friday nationwide, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is directed by David Yates from a script by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. The film stars Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Fiona Glascott and Callum Turner.

ที่สุดๆเลยก็ เอฟเฟคทั้งหลายของเรื่องและทั้งเรื่องเลย ... บอกได้ว่าเนียนตามากๆ ผมเป็นคนนึงที่ชอบจับผิด จุดหลุดของเอฟเฟค เรื่องนี้ทำได้แบบว่าสุดยอดครับ รู้ทั้งรู้ว่ามันไม่ใช่ของจริง พอดูไปสักพักเราคิดว่า อยู่ในโลกเดียวกับหนังแบบลืมไปเลย ก็คล้ายๆกับ Harry แหล่ะครับ แต่มันพัฒนาได้เนียนตาขึ้น

Cinematography ได้ความรู้สึก Harry Potter เลย (ก็ผู้กำกับคนเดียวกันนี่เนอะ) เราเห็น Harry แบบไหนก็แนวนั้นเลยครับ แต่มีการพัฒนามุมมองให้เรียกว่ากินและเคี้ยวง่ายมากขึ้นละกันครับ มุมภาพรวมกับเอฟเฟคเข้ากันได้อย่างลงตัวมากๆ อีกอย่าง เป็นความชอบส่วนตัวเลย ชอบที่เค้าจัดแสงจัดสีเป็นไปตามโทนอารมณ์ของฉากนั้นๆได้แบบเนียนๆ ปล่อยอารมณ์ดูไปแบบสบายๆ

นักแสดงผมขอใช้คำว่าพระกาฬละกัน เชื่อว่าช่วง Recruit นี่ คัดกันแบบละเอียด จนผมอินลึกตามแววตาตัวละครเลย (เรื่องจริง) ส่วนตัวชอบโคลิน ถ้าแกไม่แบดบอยมาก น่าจะมีผลงานกระฉูดไปละ (แอบมีเซอร์ไพรส์นักแสดงตอนท้าย ด้วยความที่ไม่ได้ทำการบ้าน >__< )

ด้วยความที่หนังเป็นความแฟนตาซีทั้งเรื่อง ก็จะมีการดำเนินเรื่องไปเรื่อยๆ ช้านิดๆ หลุดๆไปบ้าง (เกือบหลับไปนิด สงสัยนอนน้อย) แต่ชอบในความถูกที่ถูกเวลาของมุกตลก มาแบบพอดีๆ ไม่รบกวนเนื้อเรื่องเกินไป

หนังได้สอดแทรกข้อคิด มุมมองการใช้ชีวิตหลายอย่างแบบเนียนๆ อยู่นิดหน่อยครับ ส่วนใหญ่ก็พระเอกพูดนี่แหล่ะ (บางทีผมอาจจะรู้สึกไปเองก็ได้ ฮาาา)

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is only the second instalment of a planned five-film series. JK Rowling wrote the screenplay for the sequel and it sees a return to the wizarding world of Newt Scamander played by Eddie Redmayne. Johnny Depp plays the character of dark wizard Gillert Grindelwald and the following films will focus on his rise and fall.

The prequel franchise began in 2016 with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The sequel to Fantastic Beasts introduces a younger version of Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law), who story is linked with Grindelwald’s.

With the movie hitting cinemas, Harry Potter fans will be wondering whether to stick around until the end for a post-credit scene or a tease of the next film in the prequel franchise.

However, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald does not have a mid-credits or end-credits scene.

In tradition to the Harry Potter films, the Fantastic Beats sequel concludes entirely before the credits begin to roll.

The original eight-movie did not include a post-credits scene, as the film franchise seemed to predate the popularity of the scenes in Hollywood.

There was no post-credit scene in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them either, but as the film series is slightly separate from Harry Potter and is not adapted from a series of book, the prequel films could forge a new path and start using post-credits scenes.

However this does seem to be the case, although it could change with upcoming instalments of the Fantastic Beast franchise.

The final scene of The Crimes of Grindelwald has a major reveal which in itself does the work of a post-credits scene.

The scene gives fans one final shock that will get them buzzing with theories and get them excited to come back for the next chapter.

Crimes of Grindelwald showcases show new creatures, and one inspired by Chinese mythology stands out as a magnificent beast.

It measures as big as an elephant, with a striped body, scraggly mane and long sharp claws.

Although the future of the Fantastic Beasts remains uncertain, as The Crimes of Grindelwald has the lowest score of any Harry Potter movie, currently holding a 52 percent rating.

Regardless of the score, the film is expected to have a massive opening weekend at the worldwide box office.

But for now, all moviegoers need to know if there is no end-credits scene at the end of The Crimes of Grindelwald, and fans will have to wait to see what comes next for Warner Bros and Rowling’s Wizarding World franchise.
