It may seem like an oxymoron...how can something be called modern hair metal? BBABH has done it. This album hearkens back to the 80s in a big way, but retains a full-on modern metal onslaught. The hooks here could catch a whale, but there's attitude all over this record. Each and every song is well crafted and stands on its own merits. The opening two tracks, Deathwish and Shut Up And Rock, are as blistering a 1-2 punch as you've probably heard since 1988. However, while these two songs are probably the most aggressive on the album, the rest of the album still rocks hard. The ballad, a power ballad called I've Got You, is right up there with the best of the hair band ballads from the 80s. The aggressive modern vocals that were more prevalent on the band's earlier output are almost all gone, save for the verses of Love Nightmare. Other than that, the singing is all clean, and this guy has some serious pipes!

The production is outstanding. Every instrument, including the vocals, have been mixed and mastered to near perfection. You can hear everything!

I can't recommend this album enough. If you are a fan of 80s metal or modern melodic metal, I can almost guarantee you're gonna love this album.

This record is a huge leap forward in style and musicianship from Pedal To The Metal (which I loved, by the way). The band is tight and the guitar playing is AMAZING. Well worth the price to check it out. Deathwish is my favorite track, but be sure you check out Sleepless Nights and Rockin' All Night. Did I mention the SHRED? Unbelievable.

This cd is so fresh sounding to my ears. It's a mix of 80s hair metal melodicness with modern rock heaviness and with 80s/90s shred guitar type guitar solos. Big chorus memorable verses and killer solos. What more can you want? This has some great tunes like tracks 1, 2, 3, 4,and 8 really jump out as instantly likeable songs. If your reading this you already know how awesome this band is so buy it.

I'll admit the only reason I purchased this record, is due to the reviews about it being something that fell out of the 1980's. Well, sadly that isn't the case with this record or band. These guys sound like they like 80s' music and all, but then they try and add elements of the modern screamo sound, and they just massacre the music.

Now before everyone that loves this band goes all Bruce Lee on me for my intro, realize this, I bought this on the premise of it being like Crashdiet, Reckless Love and H.E.A.T. Blessed By A Broken Heart are not like any of those bands, sorry they're just not on those bands level. While I admit there was some tracks that weren't awful, most songs just ran together for me and I got very little from my listening experience. The only saving grace on this record for me was "Rockin' All Night", the one and only song that reminded me of melodic rock music on the disc.

Please don't misunderstand my review. If you dig bands like Black Veil Brides and Avenged Sevenfold, then Blessed By A Broken Heart will be right up your alley. They actually could rival either one of those bands, and hold their own quite well. If your like me however, and do not listen to that type of music, then you definitately want to avoid these guys and try something else more Swedish(got nothing but love for those Swedes).

Hi Guys, It is hard to tell complicated about this album because it is simply brilliant! You got everything you expect from a hard rock/metal band in 2012. Great vocals, great guitars ( listen the intro of the Love Nightmare ), great everything. I have nothing more to say just GO FOR IT!!!!

Great music! They remind me of early Stryper with a little more 2013 metal added in. Good message along with great guitars. They remind me of my childhood and my dad playing "records" of christian metal bands ( Stryper, Whiteheart, and Petra).

This album is a fun masterpiece. Blessed By A Broken Heart are more rock, more shred, more up beat, and more fun than the 80s. This is a positive version of what A7X aims to one day achieve, vocally and musically.

It's solid from top to bottom. Even the ballad is great. I wish they hadn't split, I'd love to hear something like this again.
