I realize you can’t cater to US citizens alone, but could we at least get some English speaking news? They play continuous CSI all day long. I hated it in the US, and hate it more now! Of course we site see during the day, but when we get back we’d like to view something decent. The toilet area is small. 6 foot tall Americans hit their heads on the wall when trying to get off the toilet. Sleep quality was great with good beds, linens and pillows. Our room fortunately had a good view and was quiet. Unfortunately, my sisters who were 2 doors down were not as lucky. They had this strange whooshing from the air-conditioning which the service department could not address. We love the scent of the shampoo and liquid soap so much. I just find that the partial shower enclosure does not keep the water from the shower away from the area outside. There is something wrong with the angle of the barrier which leads the water towards the main bathroom floor which always renders it wet. The floor mat is always soaked in water which is unpleasant. I have stayed here many years ago and would say the breakfast quality has deteriorated. There was a day when the bread items like the croissants were stale and inedible. It was just for that 1 day but it should not have been allowed to happen. They are also not very careful with the freshness of their ingredients. I ended up with an upset stomach after having the meatballs in the noodle soup. There was also a red curry with mussels that was not all fresh. One bite into one, made me spit it out to prevent another unfortunate result. But in general, it is still a good hotel and well situated in front of the sky train and walking distance from the Central Embassy. Staff are excellent, rooms well appointed and clean, management very friendly and a great location. Highly recommend the restaurant as well, great mix of local and international food, and the bar on the ground floor has a great cocktail menu and super friendly staff! I spent my birthday the staff at Dee Lounge sang happy birthday and the hotel delivered a cake to my room.
